Canonical Wage Computation Standard

The Canonical Wage Computation Standard, abbreviated CWCS, is Part II of WAGECODE v1.0. It governs wage facts, deterministic computation, computation-related CWSO fields, error handling and uncertainty treatment.

Scope

The Canonical Wage Computation Standard is Part II of WAGECODE v1.0 and governs the Wage Fact Set, computation-related CWSO fields, deterministic wage computation, and error and uncertainty handling.

CWCS draws on Part II of WAGECODE v1.0 together with the computation-related appendices. Appendix D is informative and must not be treated as introducing new normative requirements.

CWCS governs the ordered computation chain:

Determinism and replay

Determinism means that the same declared inputs, bindings, computation version and rules produce the same result. It does not mean that incomplete, false or misclassified inputs become correct merely because they were processed deterministically.

Error and uncertainty

CWCS governs how error conditions and uncertainty are expressed and preserved rather than silently discarded.

Boundaries

CWCS is not a runtime, a payroll engine, software, certification or a legal determination.

Relationship to CWSP

CWCS governs computation; CWSP governs canonical wage-state representation and objects. They are distinct components of WAGECODE v1.0.
